A scarce assembled lot of three original mid-century sheet music editions by Vladimer Kurtidi (1909-1982), a respected Georgian composer and pedagogue. Published in post-WWII Tbilisi by the Musical Fund of the Georgian SSR, these volumes were explicitly composed for students of children's musical schools. The lot includes "Children's Pieces" (1947), "Three Pieces for Piano Four Hands" (1953) featuring folk and collective-farm themes, and "Sonatina No. 2" (1955) intended for fourth and fifth-grade piano students. Such fragile, utilitarian paper-bound musical scores from the Stalinist and early Khrushchev eras were subjected to heavy use by students and teachers alike, making surviving copies uncommon. The exceptional significance of this specific set lies in its provenance: each of the three volumes bears a matching, dated presentation inscription signed by the composer on the front cover. This transforms the instructional sheet music into a documented association set, reflecting Kurtidi's personal and pedagogical circle in 1950s Soviet Georgia. A unique acquisition for collectors of Soviet musical history and Caucasian pedagogical archives.
