Published in Tbilisi during the Khrushchev Thaw, "White Sails" captures the revived romantic and humanist spirit of early 1960s Soviet Georgian literature, focusing on themes of nature, maritime motifs, and personal reflection. The volume is notably enhanced by its original illustrated dust jacket, designed by the graphic artist D. Dundua, featuring a vibrant, stylized seascape with colorful sails—a fine example of the mid-century modern aesthetic emerging in Soviet book design at the time.
