A collection of short prose and translated pieces published under the Georgian title "The Hunter's Heart," issued by the Tbilisi children's and youth press Nakaduli (Detyunizdat of the Georgian SSR) for a young readership. The stories are set in the Georgian countryside and mountain villages, built around the traditional pairing of hunting, friendship, and love of the land: the surviving text pages open on a boy's journey with a friend to a mountain village, framed by an authorial meditation on Georgia's regional diversity ("there is no corner of Georgia untouched by this"). The illustrated dust jacket, unsigned in the visible material, depicts two white birds flying toward a rayed sun above a stylized coastline and a hillside crowned with a Svan-style stone defensive tower, imagery that reads as a visual shorthand for the mountain and coastal landscapes the stories move through.
