This 1932 publication is the first Russian edition of the memoirs of American General William Sidney Graves (1865–1940), who commanded the U.S. Expeditionary Forces in Siberia during the Allied intervention in the Russian Civil War. Published by the State Military Publishing House in Moscow, this translation provides a critical firsthand account from the perspective of a key foreign participant. The book includes an introductory article by the prominent Soviet historian I. I. Mints, framing Graves's narrative within the official Soviet ideological interpretation of the events. Graves's work details the activities of the American contingent and offers his assessment of the White Movement leaders, such as Admiral Kolchak and Ataman Semyonov. The edition is notable for its high-quality publisher's calico binding with embossed lettering. As a primary source on a contentious period of international history, this volume is a valuable resource for historians of the Russian Civil War, U.S.-Soviet relations, and military history.
