This is the complete three-volume collection of works by the French Enlightenment philosopher Étienne Bonnot de Condillac (1715–1780), published in the USSR between 1980 and 1983. Issued as part of the prestigious academic series "Philosophical Heritage" by the publishing house "Mysl" (Thought), this edition represents the comprehensive Soviet presentation of Condillac's thought to a Russian-speaking audience. A key figure of sensationalist epistemology, Condillac is best known for developing John Locke's empirical ideas, arguing that all human knowledge and mental faculties originate from and are transformed by sensation. His influential works, such as Treatise on Sensations and Essay on the Origin of Human Knowledge, systematically analyze the formation of ideas, language, and logic from sensory experience. This collected edition, translated and prepared with scholarly commentary, made his major philosophical writings accessible within the Soviet intellectual context, contributing to the study of the history of materialism and Enlightenment philosophy.
