This is a modern, large-format children's edition that introduces the Georgian national epic, Shota Rustaveli's "The Knight in the Panther's Skin" (Vepkhistqaosani), to a preschool and early school audience. Adapted and retold by Avtandil Nikolaishvili, the book's most distinctive feature is its artwork, which incorporates historical miniatures by the 16th-17th century artist Mamuka Tavakarashvili, alongside works by an unknown contemporary illustrator. Published by Sakartvelos Matsne in 2013, this edition creates a unique visual dialogue between centuries, connecting young readers with Georgia's medieval artistic heritage.
