This is a collection of popular historical essays on chess and checkers, co-authored by Iser Iosifovich Kuperman (1922–2006), one of the greatest checkers players of the 20th century. A seven-time World Champion, International Grandmaster (1958), and Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, Kuperman dominated both Russian and international draughts before his emigration in 1978. Published in Kyiv in 1966, during the peak of his athletic career, this book in Ukrainian reflects his role as a popularizer and theorist of mind sports.
