The book by the Soviet engineer and mining specialist Boris Petrovich Weinberg (1871–1942) is a popular science work devoted to the classification, properties, and use of various types of coal. Published during the period of active restoration of the coal industry in the USSR after the Civil War, when the country was in dire need of rational use of resources.
Solomon Borisovich Yudovin (1892–1954) was an outstanding Jewish graphic artist, master of xylography (wood engraving) and illustrator.
