A first edition of Samuil Marshak's celebrated satirical poem "Mister Twister," illustrated by the renowned avant-garde artist Vladimir Lebedev. Published in 1933, the poem sharply critiques racism and bourgeois prejudice through the story of an American millionaire's disastrous stay in a Soviet hotel. Lebedev's distinctive modernist illustrations and cover design are integral to the book's artistic value. This small-format edition, produced by the major state publishing houses OGIZ and Molodaya Gvardiya, is a classic example of early Soviet children's literature with a strong social message and is highly regarded by collectors of both Marshak's work and Soviet graphic art.
