A first English edition of stories by the renowned Soviet children's writer Nikolay Nosov, published by Progress Publishers in Moscow. This collection, illustrated by Gregori Yudin, was part of a series of translations aimed at introducing Soviet literature to an English-speaking audience. Nosov is best known for his beloved character Neznayka (Dunno), and his humorous, insightful stories about children's everyday adventures were immensely popular in the USSR and abroad. This edition represents a classic example of Soviet children's book design and translation efforts during the late 20th century.
