Bibliography / Literary Criticism (Matenakhosutyun).
Tiflis: N. Aghanyants Typography, 1909.

This 1909 first edition is a seminal work in Armenian literary criticism and bibliography, compiled by the prominent scholar Garegin Yengibaryan (1863–1920). Educated at Moscow State University and writing under the pseudonyms Nushirvan and G. A., Yengibaryan was a pivotal figure in the intellectual circles of Tiflis, contributing extensively to leading periodicals such as "Mshak," "Ardzagank," and "Taraz." The text provides a deep dive into the internal logic of the late 19th and early 20th-century Armenian literary renaissance, including the arrangement of critical essays and bibliographical studies on titans of Armenian letters like Raffi, Raphael Patkanian, Perch Proshian, Alexander Shirvanzade, and Hovhannes Tumanyan.  As a vital primary source, this volume documents the systematic evolution of Armenian aesthetic thought and the historical reception of the era's most significant prose and poetry. The book features elegant period ornamentation and was printed at the renowned N. Aghanyants typography, a center for Armenian intellectual life in pre-revolutionary Georgia. Bound in a sturdy period hardcover, this volume is a significant bibliographical rarity for Armenologists, historians of the Caucasus, and collectors of early 20th-century literary scholarship.
