A specialized philological monograph by the Uzbek SSR Academy of Sciences' Pushkin Institute of Language and Literature, presenting the first comprehensive comparative study of the morphology of Turkic literary monuments composed in the 13th-14th centuries in Central Asia and the territory of the Golden Horde. The authors, a team of Uzbek Turkologists led by responsible editor E. I. Fozilov, analyze verb, noun, adjective, adverb, pronoun, postposition, conjunction, particle, and interjection systems across six foundational texts of Central Asian Turkic literary history: the "Oghuzname" epic, the romance "Muhabbatname," the Khosrow-and-Shirin tradition, the Sufi treatise "Nahj al-Faradis," a Qur'anic "Tafsir," and Rabguzi's "Qisas al-Anbiya" (here "Qisas-i Rabguzi"). The study situates these sources against the morphology of Orkhon-Yenisei runic inscriptions, Old Uyghur texts, and the classical monuments "Divan lughat al-Turk" and "Kutadgu Bilig." Issued in a modest print run of 1,200 copies by the Uzbek Academy of Sciences press "Fan," the volume is a specialist reference for Turkologists, historians of the Chagatai and pre-Chagatai literary languages, and scholars of Golden Horde and Central Asian manuscript culture.
