A charming and exceptionally rare survival of a Soviet-era children's interactive book, published by "Malysh" in 1972. Written by the well-known children's author Eduard Shim and illustrated by M. Mezheninov, this "Read and Color" album features a delightful bedtime story about forest animals. The book is designed with a specific pedagogical format common in the USSR: each spread pairs a fully colored illustration on one side with a matching black-and-white outline on the opposite page, meant to be colored in by the child. Finding mid-century coloring books in a completely uncolored condition is incredibly difficult, as they were inherently designed for consumption and destruction.
