A highly rare, early post-war regional sheet music edition published in Tbilisi, featuring the romance "Blue Color" (Tsisa pers) by the prominent Georgian composer Alexi Machavariani (1913-1995). The vocal work is a beautiful musical setting of the famous poem by the classic of Georgian Romanticism, Nikoloz Baratashvili. Published by the Musical Fund of the Georgian SSR in 1949 and printed at the local "Zarya Vostoka" typography, this edition features parallel lyrics in both the original Georgian and Russian (translated by M. Kvaliashvili). Regional musical publications from the Caucasus during the Stalinist era are exceptionally scarce on the international market, especially those issued with such a strictly limited print run of only 1,000 copies. The elegant two-color blue and white cover design perfectly evokes the lyrical and melancholic mood of the poem. Preserved in very good condition, this piece is a remarkable artifact of Soviet Georgian musical heritage and a valuable find for collectors of rare regional sheet music and Caucasian cultural history.
