This description covers three specific issues from the iconic "Krokodil Library" series (Biblioteka "Krokodila"): № 11 (1945), № 38 (1948), and № 40 (1948). This long-running, popular paperback supplement to the leading Soviet satirical magazine "Krokodil" was published by "Pravda" and featured works by renowned authors, often illustrated by the magazine's celebrated artists. Issue No. 11 (1945) presents the popular revolutionary poet Demyan Bedny, with illustrations by master caricaturist Mikhail Cheremnykh. Issue No. 38 (1948) is an anthology of travel sketches featuring artwork by a constellation of the magazine's top illustrators, including Boris Efimov. Issue No. 40 (1948) contains the work of the great Hungarian poet Sándor Petőfi in Russian translation, illustrated by Lev Brodaty. Together, these issues exemplify the series' eclectic mix of domestic satire, foreign literature, and high-quality graphic art.
