This book is the first separate edition of Korney Ivanovich Chukovsky's literary-critical essay on Alexander Alexandrovich Blok (1880–1921), a defining poet of the Russian Silver Age. Published in 1924 by the A. F. Marks publishing house in Petrograd (soon to be renamed Leningrad), this work appeared just a few years after Blok's death, capturing early critical and personal reflections from a fellow literary giant.
