A first Russian edition of Jean Giraudoux's novel Siegfried et le Limousin, published in 1927 during the relatively open cultural period of the New Economic Policy (NEP). The translation was a collaborative effort by the poets Sofia Parnok and Zinaida Vershinina. The edition features an introductory article by the prominent literary scholar Isaak Markovich Nusinov (1889–1950), whose career would later end tragically during the Stalinist repressions. The cover and illustrations are by artist Boris Titov. This publication represents a significant moment of engagement with contemporary French literature in the early Soviet Union, blending modernist narrative with post-war themes of identity and memory.
