This is the first Georgian edition of Novalis's seminal Romantic novel Heinrich von Ofterdingen, published in Tbilisi in 1989, a year of significant political change. The translation by Nana Gogolashvili and the scholarly foreword by Naira Gelashvili were prepared under the official auspices of the Georgian Writers' Union. The publication of this key German Romantic text, centered on the poetic search for the "Blue Flower," represents an important moment in the expansion of translated philosophical and literary classics in Georgian during the late Soviet period.
