Gorodets painting is a Russian folk art craft. It has existed since the mid-19th century in the area around the town of Gorodets. Bright, laconic Gorodets painting adorned spinning wheels, furniture, shutters, and doors. In 1936, a souvenir-making cooperative was founded; masters included D.I. Kryukov, A.E. Konovalov, and I.A. Mazin.
