Konstantin Dmitrievich Ushinsky (1824–1870) was a great Russian educator, founder of scientific pedagogy in Russia, author of fundamental works on the theory of upbringing and teaching. His ideas had a profound influence on the development of domestic and world pedagogical thought.
The fifth edition of the first volume of K.D. Ushinsky's main theoretical work — "Man as the Subject of Education: An Essay in Pedagogical Anthropology." This edition was printed unchanged from the second edition, corrected by the author himself, which guarantees the accuracy of the text. In this fundamental work, Ushinsky substantiated the anthropological approach to pedagogy, considering upbringing as a process that comprehensively takes into account human nature — physiological, psychological, and social. The book, which went through numerous editions, remained a standard reference for several generations of educators.
