Konstantin Dorimedontovich Pokrovsky (1868–1944) was a Russian and Soviet astronomer, professor, one of the founders of the Moscow Astronomical Institute. Vasily Nikolaevich Masjutin (1884–1955) was a Russian and German graphic artist, engraver, art historian, known for his work in book design.
A star atlas compiled by Professor K. D. Pokrovsky and published in Berlin in 1923. The edition includes thirteen maps, two tables, and fifteen grids, accompanied by explanatory text and five drawings of constellations. The atlas is intended both for general familiarization with the celestial sphere and for systematic astronomical observations. The cover was designed by the renowned artist Vasily Masjutin. Published abroad in a small print run, this edition is a bibliographic rarity and is of interest to the history of science and the book design of the Russian emigration.
