Issued jointly by the USSR Academy of Arts, its Research Institute of Theory and History of Fine Arts, and the Central State Archive of the National Economy of the USSR, and compiled under the general editorship of Vladimir Tolstoy, a leading Soviet historian of decorative and monumental art, the volume reproduces government decrees on the nationalized porcelain and glass trusts, competition and exhibition regulations, factory reports, period journal and newspaper articles, and theoretical writings by artists and critics.
