Born in Tbilisi, by profession a neurologist and head of the neurology department at Tbilisi Central Hospital, he composed approximately 500 endgame studies, winning 21 first prizes, 25 second prizes, and 20 third prizes in international composition tourneys. He was awarded the title of International Master of Chess Composition by FIDE in 1969, and the title of FIDE Grandmaster for Chess Composition in 1980 - the highest distinction in the field. He was co-founder of the Permanent Commission for Chess Composition (PCCC) within FIDE, and served as the USSR delegate to annual PCCC meetings until his death. He was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of Georgia. The present volume is a major collection of his studies, with a trilingual presentation in Georgian, Russian, and English addressed to the international chess composition community. The constructivist dust jacket, designed by E. Amashukeli in three colors - black, red, and yellow - with a bold chess knight silhouette, abstract checkered squares, and stylized pawns, is among the most striking pieces of Soviet Georgian sports book graphic design of the 1960s. \u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Stanza Rare Books","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":44324818550826,"sku":null,"price":50.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0701\/6359\/5306\/files\/IMG_3026.jpg?v=1778099527","url":"https:\/\/stanzararebooks.com\/products\/signed-nadareishvili-gia-studies-etiudebi-1965-in-georgian-copy","provider":"Stanza Rare Books","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
