The volume represents a vital early twentieth-century effort to introduce the masterpieces of the Georgian Silver Age and classical romanticism to the Russian-speaking public. The anthology encompasses the finest works of the Georgian literary pantheon, featuring early translations of Nikoloz Baratashvili, Ilia Chavchavadze, Akaki Tsereteli, Vazha-Pshavela, Grigol Abashidze, and Kote Makashvili, among others.
