She went on to defend the title successfully four times and held the championship until 1991. The volume was authored jointly by Eduard Gufeld (1936-2002), the Georgian-born Soviet grandmaster celebrated for his attacking brilliance and prolific chess writing career, who eventually emigrated and settled in the United States, and Arsen Yeremyan, his Georgian collaborator. The book presents Chiburdanidze's chess development, key games, and biography for a Georgian-reading audience, and includes eight leaves of photographic plates, closing with an iconic image of the young Maia at the chessboard. The cover design, in black with white silhouetted chess pieces arranged in a modernist globe-and-crown motif, is one of the more elegant pieces of Soviet Georgian chess book design of the 1980s.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Stanza Rare Books","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":44324924751914,"sku":null,"price":60.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0701\/6359\/5306\/files\/IMG_3050.jpg?v=1778101947","url":"https:\/\/stanzararebooks.com\/products\/signed-gufeld-eduard-yeremyan-arsen-maia-chiburdanidze-1981-in-georgian","provider":"Stanza Rare Books","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
