Edited by A. M. Gutyar and S. M. Usas and published by S. I. Chepurny, all active participants in the Social Democratic movement, the journal began its brief existence on November 27, 1905. Its fate was swiftly sealed by Tsarist authorities: the first issue was confiscated, and this second \"double issue\" was completely \"arrested\" and destroyed by court order. As a result, both editors were sentenced to a year in prison, and the publication was permanently banned. The journal's content, produced in a larger format (32×22 cm) with color illustrations, represented the voice of socialist opposition. Given the systematic destruction of its entire print run, any surviving copy of this issue, like the one described, represents an extraordinary historical and bibliographic rarity. It stands as a material testament to the intense political repression against the socialist and revolutionary press in 1905 Russia.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Stanza Rare Books","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":43963026341930,"sku":"EB-306650134523","price":150.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0701\/6359\/5306\/files\/57_7ad23ca2-8723-4ade-b772-eb61722b7aae.jpg?v=1768159931","url":"https:\/\/stanzararebooks.com\/products\/confiscated-ed-%d1%81%d0%b2%d0%be%d0%b1%d0%be%d0%b4%d0%b0-%d1%81%d0%be%d1%86%d0%b8%d0%b0%d0%bb%d0%b8%d1%81%d1%82%d0%b8%d1%87%d0%b5%d1%81%d0%ba%d0%b8%d0%b9-%d0%b6%d1%83%d1%80%d0%bd%d0%b0%d0%bb-2-1905-svoboda-freedom-journal","provider":"Stanza Rare Books","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
