The volume was assembled by SPKTB POVP \"Samtrest,\" the Special Design and Technological Bureau of the winemaking production association \"Samtrest\" - the state trust that had controlled Georgia's major wineries, distilleries, and wine-fruit state farms since its founding in 1929, and whose name appeared on the label of virtually every bottle of Georgian wine and cognac exported from the Georgian SSR. Each of the fifty-seven constituent standards is itself an официальное издание, individually typeset and printed by the USSR State Committee for Standards (Gosstandart) in Moscow between 1950 and 1981, and numbered sequentially in manuscript to mark its place in this particular working set, with a typewritten index added at the front for ready reference.
