It follows how the class system developed within individual language groups and then across the whole family, and it links the evolution of grammatical classes to the emergence and development of personal conjugation. The opening chapter asks what the basis of division into grammatical classes is, and takes the Dagestanian languages, where the category is best preserved, as its first example; later sections consider the Nakh and other groups. The author, Nodar Andghuladze, belonged to the Georgian school of Caucasian linguistics, and the volume appeared under the editorship of Arnold Chikobava (1898-1985), the founder of Iberian-Caucasian linguistics as a discipline and the editor of the Academy's Caucasian studies. It was issued by the Metsniereba publishing house of the Georgian Academy of Sciences in only 600 copies, the usual small run for a specialist academic monograph of the period, so the book is rarely met outside linguistic and Caucasological libraries. It will interest collectors and scholars of Caucasian linguistics, comparative and historical grammar, and Georgian academic publishing of the Soviet era. This is a clean, complete copy of a first edition with its tipped-in errata slip.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Stanza Rare Books","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":71509721350397,"sku":null,"price":60.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0701\/6359\/5306\/files\/IMG_5048_fc0734c1-cca6-4d2c-945b-9815f7afc25e.jpg?v=1791482560","url":"https:\/\/stanzararebooks.com\/products\/andghuladze-n-some-questions-of-the-history-of-class-and-personal-conjugation-in-the-iberian-caucasian-languages-klasovani-da-pirovani-ughvlilebis-istoriis-zogi-sakitkhi-iberiul-kavkasiur-enebshi-first-edition-1968-in-georgian","provider":"Stanza Rare Books","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
